I have been a parent at SCS since 2010. What drew us to SCS was the emphasis on The Arts.  I had worked closely, in the past, with the previous art teachers, and was thrilled to throw my hat in the ring when the opportunity arose.  I studied fashion merchandising and design in college and worked in the industry for a period of time.  I enjoy so many different mediums and styles of art and am thrilled to be sharing that love with the children at SCS.  

My goal this year is to, first and foremost, have fun creating!  As the children create and explore the different style and mediums of art, they will be gaining knowledge and understanding of the elements and principles of art.  I want all of the students to know that they are all Artists.  I would love for the students to find what excites them about art (a specific style, medium or a particular Artist).  I will be exposing the students to past and present artists and their works and having the students create their own art inspired by these artists.  My goal is that every student feels successful, creative and inspired and finds their own love for The Arts!
