Ms. Harmon

4th Grade

I was introduced to Sonoma Charter in 2009, as a parent, when my son, Ian, started Kindergarten with Rachel. A few years later, I began teaching part-time at SCS in Cluster 3, in math for 6th and 8th graders. I became a full-time Cluster 2 teacher in 2012, teaching 4th/5th and then just 4th.  Prior to SCS, I began my teaching career in Napa in 1998, teaching 3rd grade at Phillips-Edison School. My favorite part of teaching is getting to know my students and having a “different” day every day. My least favorite part is hearing people say, “our schools are failing.” Visit classrooms. You’ll see that schools are definitely not failing.

I live in Sonoma with my husband, Scott, and two children, Ian and Alexis. I grew up in Sonoma and attended Flowery, Altimira and Sonoma High School. I went to UC Santa Barbara and earned my degree in Linguistics, and got my teaching credential from Chapman University. My favorite activities are reading, camping, ATVing and weekend movies with my family.
